Saturday Activations
Twelve hours of fishing games, oysters, live art, and controlled chaos. Here's how the day shakes out.
Five anglers, guides, and conservationists. One questionable moderator. Questions come fast, answers should too. We'll get into the real issues, then wander into fish stories, bad opinions, and whatever the crowd throws at us. Fish can't talk. Let's talk about it.
Grab a fly rod, hit the target, and dump a bucket of water on somebody who probably deserves it. That's the whole thing.
For one hour, Badfish is feeding the people. Grab a free oyster, stay for a few more, meet somebody strange. First come, first shucked. When they're gone, they're gone.
Come and go. Ask a question, pull up a chair, tell a story, stay longer than you meant to. Rotating throughout the afternoon:
Local tiers and builders doing their thing. Watch, ask questions, steal a trick, and maybe try it yourself.
Comedians, writers, podcasters, storytellers, and fish people with microphones. Drop in — the conversation could go anywhere.
Local guides standing by to answer basically anything. Where to fish, what to throw, why your cast keeps falling apart. Life advice offered at your own risk. Hugs technically optional.
The best boat towels ever, plus one of the best outdoor photographers in the game, Ian Deveau. Sit down, have a drink, meet somebody, do absolutely nothing for a minute.
They'll be making stuff right in front of you. Watch them work, ask questions, check out the finished pieces, maybe take one home. Not the kind of gallery where you're afraid to stand too close. Get in there.
Over a few hours, a crew of sporting artists turns it into something else entirely. Just paint, a big empty surface, and whatever happens next. Watch it come alive — maybe leave your mark.
Grab a practice fly rod and try to land your cast in a YETI bucket. Challenge a friend, challenge a stranger, talk way too much trash.
Two certified casting instructors from Bear's Den Fly Fishing Co. will get you started. Make a few terrible casts, then a couple less-terrible ones.

Doors open at High Noon — on Saturday, September 12th. The day kicks off with a blitz of giveaways, oyster shucks, and fishy activations, so don't sleep in. From 4pm on will be all about the music; wear your dancing shoes.
